For as long as I can remember, I've had an instinctual need to create. It doesn't matter what medium; be it drawing, writing, or even gaming, give me a sandbox to play around in and I'll build a fortress filled with the strangest nooks and crannies you can imagine. As a child, I had worlds in my head I couldn't put to proper words—my teachers always wrote in their comments that I was a dreamer, and they were right.
If I'm honest, I'm not really sure why, or when this all began. Maybe since the first time I could see, or speak. But I do know this—I've been blessed with a life where I have the conditions to be able to pursue whatever my heart desires without much worry. At age 18, I've traveled to more places than some people will in a lifetime. And in these eighteen years, I've already seen so many beautiful things, though I know it's only a tiny fraction of what the rest of the world has to offer. Sometimes, you see something so beautiful that you just can't help wanting to capture the moment, to just stop and stare and engrave the memory in your mind's eye forever. Though I grew up with a constant desire to create, eventually part of that also became the desire to preserve. I guess if I had to say something about the inspiration behind my work, it's that I create to be able to bring the worlds I envision into reality, along with the hope of conveying some of the world's beauty through my works.
Throughout the years, my favorite medium has remained that of digital illustration. I don't like limitations on creativity, and out of all the mediums I have worked with personally, digital art provides the most freedom. Traditional art has the constraints of colors and materials, but when you work digitally, all that's required is a tablet and adequate software, and the colors of the rainbow are at your fingertips.
